About Me

- Mr. Phillips
- I have been teaching at SPCC since 2004. I love interacting with students everyday and working with my peers. I also love playing and coaching basketball, playing baseball, and golfing. I love being spontaneous and riding the wave of life where it takes me. I am also very proud to have the best wife, duaghter, and a brand new edition on the way in September. My parents are a driving force in who I have become and throughout my life I have had the best friends around me who love me for who I am. God has guided me in many ways that have turned into miracles.

My day was normal. Had a regular morning and went to school. After that I started on my homework and im still doing it. I am getting better but I still get a little unfocused. I'm going to work on that now and finish my Thursday schedule. Hope everybody's day is great and they accomplish their goals. See you all tommorow.
ReplyDeleteWell today was a much better day than yesterday. I finished all my latin work for the year! I did not buy a soda or yogurt or candy or anything when i got off the bus. I went straight to work and ate a wrap. It was a haelthy choice with a low sodium all natural cola. I havnt eaten anything since then, and I'm not hungry at all! I've noticed if I eat something healthy and filling, I'm in a better, more awake mood. I'm filling my time slot with babysitting and basketball. See ya guys at the mock trial!
ReplyDeleteToday went great! All of my changes are working themselves into my life to feel normal now. I came home, and had a banana(again). Then, I waited for the weather to cool a little bit and I ran a mile. I beat my fastest time so far! Also, I already see a change in my body. It's easier to run for a longer duration. After this, I wanted to challenge myself more, so I pitched again at the park. I am loving this experiment and I hope everyone else is too! See you guys tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThe 4th day of the habit project went without any problems. My schedule is working out perfectly and I dont think Im going to have to change it at all. This morning was a little challenging, but I pulled through. My dad woke me up this morning, and that didnt really wake me up. This almost caused me to sleep-in. I managed to get up, though. The habit project is working out very well for me and I think today was a perfect example of that. I'm noticing that now it is getting easier to wake up in the morning. I also feel more energetic during the day. See all of you tommorow for the mock trial!
ReplyDeleteToday was good, but my habit didnt apply. This is because we had no quizzes or tests today. there was supposed to be a language arts test, but it was cancelled. Even though its not my habit, im trying to wake up better in the mornings. I woke up well this morning, and it was sunny! Is anyone else noticing all the time you have from your habit being removed? For me, in the mornings I have loads of time to eat breakfast and relax. Also, i have some advice for anyone trying to eat healthier. If you bring healthy food and drinks to school, you will have a leg up at home. Since we started the schedule, i have felt great because of how structured each day is. It will be cool when this is over and I dont study in the mornings anymore! See everyone at the Mock Trial tommorrow! Bye!
ReplyDeleteToday went really well. I had softball practice and I tried SO hard not to get down on myself.. and I succeeded! I had a lot of fun with my teammates, and as we kept talking about life between pitches, I told them about how I was terrified of high school. They assured me that I was going to LOVE IT, and they could tell I would make friends right away! I was shocked by this compliment, and I swear my confidence shot up right there! I feel great! All in all, day 4 is a success! Now I have a question, can anyone describe.. where does it go from confident, to conceited? I have always had a fear of sounding conceited, and I think that is why my confidence is so low. Can someone help me out? Where do you think the line is drawn between conceited and confident? Thanks guys, see you tomorrow at the ever-so-nerve-wracking-mock trial! :) So nervous to testify!:( BYE!
ReplyDeleteI think the line between conceited and confident is when you go around bragging about how well you did or something. Although it may seem that your trying to let people know that your confidence has gone up and you're proud of it, it may seem conceited to some people. However the line is different for everyone. Some people have a high tolerance for conceitedness and some people have a low one. Also a good way to tell is if you read their facial expressions. If you see they're getting fed up with it, the best thing to do is stop talking and apologize or something. Hope this helps Jackie!
DeleteI totally agree! Thank you so much!(:
DeleteHey everyone!(: So right now I'm outside sitting by the fire with my daddy and Brody in our new adirondack chairs. Brody wants to roast some marshmallows and I agree but I'm about to go babysit my one year old cousin Sophia. Today was good. Nothing out of the ordinary. I'm so excited and nervous for the mock trial. Is any one else? It's pretty obvious why I'm excited, but I'm also wicked nervous because I'm Sarah Jones, the bully, and the defendant. What if I have to go up on the stand? That's so scary. Oh my gosh! What if they make us wear hand cuffs to make it more realistic? I never ever pictured myself in hand cuffs. That's even more scary! I'm probably just stressing myself out for no big deal, so I'm not gonna worry about it anymore. Speaking of stress, I added so much stress on myself by procrastinating on my Latin, so now I have to take four quizzes by the time grades close which isn't a long time. I know that I will be able to do this. If I set my mind to anything I will achieve it. Have a great night everyone!<3
ReplyDeleteHi everyone sorry I'm late. However today was fantastic. I did my homework then I had baseball practice, and then I played with my brother for a while. I think doing my homework early is starting to become a habit so this is good. It is really giving me some free time to play with friends, and I seem to be in a better mood since I'm not up until ten doing homework. I get more sleep and I feel more energized. I'm really glad that this is working out for me. Well, see everyone tomorrow at the Mock Trial. Bye!
ReplyDeleteDay 4 of the habit project was even better then yesterday. Today I paid a lot of attension in school and when I got home I ate an apple and began my homework. I started it early today because I had lacrosse practice today. In lacrosse it is even harder then a workout because you run up and down the field at my possision. When I got home I ate dinner as usually and it was actually a healthy dinner. I am actually feeling good and that is because I am eating healthy and exercising more and more. I am starting to think about making exercise and eating healthy a routine after the habit project. Overall today was another successful day. See you guys at the mock trial tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteToday was a very productive day for me I got home at 3:30 did home work and got straight into working out went easy today played basketball with my cousin for a hour then ate dinner but I didnt stop there I went bak outside and rode my bike for half a hour then got really tired but managed too bring my bike up 3 flights and took a shower and had a goodtime with the, family for a while overall had a very good day see you all tomaroe everyone at the mock trial, see youuu ...later....
ReplyDeleteGreat job Yeriel! Seems like you had a fantabulous day, thats awesome!(: Well done.
DeleteToday was a pretty succesful day. I stayed right along with my schedule the whole day. I went over my friend's house for a few hours and played basketball with him. When I keep my time occupied it is a lot easier to have the need to use electronics. I found that I was using them mostly when I was bored, but now that I am filling my time adequately I have found I just don't need them. Mr. Phillips was right that breaking a habbit is all about taking the time your habbit takes up and replaceing it with something else.
ReplyDeleteToday went a little haywire for me from the time I got home. I got off at Pleasent and ran two miles to my house and once I got there I had to start cleaning because my sister had a friend coming over after school tomorrow to help her get ready for Prom. It took about an hour and a half to clean my house, then I went outside to enjoy the day. Shortly after I had a quick dinner and went to a highschool concert at GHS. That lasted until 9:00 and then it took thirty minutes to drive home. Then I took a shower and started my blog, and that was my day:0 And I'll see you all in court....
ReplyDeleteDay 4 went unexpected, but awesome! My Gampa picked us up, like every normal thursday, but today my hockey season begun! :) I started my day off with an awesome breakfast, like every other day, but I had a pretty good lunch, and no dinner until like 5 minutes ago when i made my pizza (copying Jared, except I used bagels instead. :P)
ReplyDeleteDuring the 6 hours that i had after school, I did my homework, played basketball, went over uncles house, and went to hockey. Hockey started at 7, but i got there at 6. I was at the rink until 9:45. Yes, do the math, 3 hours and 45 minutes at the rink. I loved it! The practice was 50 minutes,( normally 80) and after that we had a 20 minute "intermission" and had to get out of our equipment, drink something, and got ready for dry land training. There we did so many differant exercizes.
I have the aheet with me and tmorrow I'll post them, if I do them (there's certain days to do them.) Well, i hope tomorrow everyone does as they please to, and who ever doesn't have their slip signed for the mock trial, BRING IT IN SIGNED! See you all tomorrow.
Good Night
Today went very good for me. I was home for a while before I had practice. Instead of watching tv I did my homework. Got back from practice finished what i had to do. Then had dinner and went to bed I watch like 30 minutes of tv and still got all of my things done. So now don't have to get out of bed early the next morning to finish my homework doing good so far .
ReplyDeleteToday went great. I played basketball when I got home and then hung out for the night after homework. Watched The Heat/Pacers game and spent time with my family. Today I didn't get to the gym because my sister had an eye appointment. I can't wait to get to the gym tomorrow. I did not get angry today which is good. See you all tomorrow. The Mock Trial is going to be fun:)
ReplyDeleteToday went well. I played basketball most of the afternoon then did homework. I hung out with my family and watched the Heat/Pacers game. I did not get to the gym because my sister had an eye appointment. I can't wait to get there tomorrow. It's going to be fun at the mock trial.

ReplyDeleteToday was a great day! I got everything on my schedule done! I exercised and played basketball. I also went to a baseball game. I didn't argue with anyone probably because I was doing a lot of fun things. I hope to keep this going!
ReplyDeleteToday I was in the after school till 4:30.My dad is doing so much better all the swelling had gone down. That before Michael had called home to say that dad had gotten hit in the face, I was on the computer doing my homework, listening music, and waiting for my pasta to be done out of the microwave. I was not thinking that anything like that happened. That just goes to show that anything at any point could happen, without any warning. Besides thinking about that, I had softball practice and before that I had stretched out my muscles. I have a softball game sunday, can't wait for that.
ReplyDeleteI had gotten a little distracted doing my homework a few times today but I manage to finish my homework in less thsn a few minutes. Other than that my day was pretty much normal.
ReplyDeleteToday was similar to yesterday. I work up at 7:00,took a shower, got dressed and did my makeup. Instead of using my phone, i eat breakfast and got to school on time. When i got home, i did my homework right away. After, I went outside and worked out for one hour.
