- I have been teaching at SPCC since 2004. I love interacting with students everyday and working with my peers. I also love playing and coaching basketball, playing baseball, and golfing. I love being spontaneous and riding the wave of life where it takes me. I am also very proud to have the best wife, duaghter, and a brand new edition on the way in September. My parents are a driving force in who I have become and throughout my life I have had the best friends around me who love me for who I am. God has guided me in many ways that have turned into miracles.

May 21st - Day 8 Habit Project
Week 2 begins and you are all at different points of reaching your goal. Some of you may be getting into a new routine while other might be finding it harder than you thought. Either way tomorrow is never the time to change. It takes one step which is usually the hardest and then another and another. Good luck and work hard.

ReplyDeletetoday,I have nothing to do. i think before I go to my cousins musical thing for school, I'm going to run a mile or 2, then play basketball. i think with this schedule I can now do what i want, but still have fun. This project can only help us, and I'm making the best of it! yay! i was the first post (I think) I also, if i can, will watch the celtics game, and run a little more. This progect has helped me realize that i can waist time in a good way, and help myself too! BRING IT ON WEEK 2!! Good Luck everyone!
Today went just as well as I had planned. Because my habit is a confidence problem, I kind of need reasons to get down on myself. I didn't have any sports, and that is when I am the least confident. Without anything to get down on myself for, I have nothing to be self-conscious about! It has been a pretty usual day. I am finishing my homework now, and soon I am going to my cousin's musical. During week two, I hope to bring up my confidence level even more! I am willing to try anything you guys have in mind! Great day, and I hope everyone's went just as well! See you all tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteToday went OK. The problem is that, last night, I didnt study. I am angry at myself for this because I had followed my schedule well when it came to my habit. I was playing my drums, and when I came upstairs it was too late to study. Other than that incident my week went well. Today was a sort of stressful day. I woke up on time though, which is good. During the second week I plan on sticking to my schedule more than I did the first week. I feel confident about breaking my habit of studying in the morning. I cant wait to do this because, when I study the night before, I am less stressed about the test the next day. Good luck everyone, and i hope your strategies are working! If anyone has any strategies for me...

ReplyDeleteMondays, Mondays, Mondays... It was very hard to get up this morning after i turned off my alarm. I actually climbed back into bed and was a bout to fall asleep. Then i remembered my project and quckly hopped out of bed. I hope to prevent this from happeneing again by turning my alarm's volume way up. This morning it seemed like i could barely hear the alarm go off. Other than that my day was fine. I hope evryone else had a good day too! See you all tommorow.
Today was kind of a success because from school I had to go to like 5 stores with my mom and I didn't have time to exercise but after I do my homework if I have time I will run outside or on my treadmill. Today was an ok day I ate some oranges and carrots and they were really good. Tonight I am also having pasta which is kind of healthy it depends what you put on it but I wont put much on it. Today has been a healthy day for me and I will be exercising in a little while. Overall today was average.

ReplyDeleteToday it went just as I planned it to even though I had an orthadontist appointment. I got off at Pleasent Street today. There I hung out with my friends outside West Side Barbeque and ran two miles home. I got home at four o'clock and waited for my dad to get home and take me to the orthadontis. Afetr I had dinner and then went outside. Then I came in and did the posts.
ReplyDeleteI had a good day at school. Did my work and finished the day. Once I got home I didn't do my homework right away. Finished it at 6:00pm. I was a little late today, but I'll try harder tommorow. Im going to be eating dinner soon. So yet again, I hope everyone is having a good day and that they keep up their goals. Everyone seems to be doing so well with them. Hope that we can keep them up and have a good day.
ReplyDeleteToday was great!(: I woke up a little late, but that didn't effect me that much, I still did my hair nice and did my make-up, and I did all my morning responsibilities. Today in school, I totally forgot that we had a Social Studies quiz, so me and Jackie crammed during lunch, and we finished first and second, confident that we got 100s. :D When I came home, I did my homework and by the time I was done, I ate supper. We had hot dogs and burgers. Then I hung out with my family. Now, I'm doing the blogs, and then when I'm done I'm going to walk my dogs, and take a shower, then bed!(: I hope everyone had a great day! See everyone tomorrow!<3
ReplyDeleteI realy have to start stepping up in this project. I'm in a three day slump right now and i need to bounce out of it. I am making more healthy choices, but it's hard. No one ever said it was easy, but I'm trying really hard. I just need to stay focused. I want to say this project was a success, but in the last few days, I can't say it has been. I'm going to keep working until I have success. I ate a buch of junk today as though we arn't even doing the project...I'll bounce back. I know it.
ReplyDeleteToday went fine. I stayed on with my schedule almost the whole day which really helped me stay organized. I feel like I do better with staying active and not have to use my electronics. Today I got home and did my homework. After that I went to my friend's house and hung out with him. We played catch for about an hour. Now I'm watching the Celtics with him and can't wait to see them beat the 76ers.
ReplyDeleteToday was a good day. I got my work out by playing my first hockey game for the summer. I played against sophomores and it was very interesting because most of them drove to the game! I also had two kiwis today. During my game, i could be on the ice for a longer time without getting tired. Can't wait for the rest of the week because I really just want to keep increasing my body's strength. I love watching myself improve!
ReplyDeletehi mr.phillips and everybody. i havent had computer access but i wrote down all my other blogs that were suppose to be done. but today was not a good day for my habit project. i stayed on my schedule most of the day but i also argued with my brother a lot and my mom and the whole point of my habit project is to replace arguing with more productive things. I hope tomorrows a better day for me.
ReplyDeleteToday was one of the hardest days for me. I had a game at 5:30, but I was torn between doing my homework and finishing my book. I ended up finishing my book and well you can tell by the time I'm posting this how the rest of my day went. I didn't do my homework right away and I didn't get that good feeling that I've been getting the past week when I did my homework right away. This was awful because now everything on my schedule is messed up and I'm going to bed later than usual. Now my next day will be filled with grumpiness, tiredness, and not very good concentration. I'm hoping that tomorrow will be better.
ReplyDeleteStill not out of this rut. I've been really angry lately about several different things. This leads to me not really caring about how I eat. I've been eating non stop. I hate this I need to get my head in the game and get my act together. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI try to stay as occupied as possible. I like to do things I like in place of eating! It totally is hard and I get where you are coming from, but this is where you need to push yourself! Keep trying Dev! :)
DeleteToday was not a success. My sister and I fought a lot today. At least I am still happy though. I went to the gym today and ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I hope to have better days this week and moving forward. See you al tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteToday was the hardest day for me. When I got home I started to eat chips and watch T.V then an hour or so later my brother asked me if I wanted to go to Wachusett to play basketball. I went but it wasn't until then when I realized that I was eating junk and I totally forgot about my routine and the habit project. But I think that today was ok because I went to play basketball at Wachusett and worked hard while I was there. I still wish I could take back when I ate those chips and watched T.V though glad I got to go to Wachusett to play basketball today.
ReplyDeleteToday (the 22nd) was a good day! No sports, and nothing to get down on myself for. I am feeling more confident, and thinking way less negatively. ReplyDeleteI have been working really hard with this project and I don't think i'll ever stop doing this running stuff! I'm in shape and I ran in the rain today. (It actually cooled me down so I ran longer!!) However, a bad thing in my day today, was my snack after school. I had a couple pieces of leftover pizza and I felt wrong eating it. I'll try 100% harder tomorrow! Can't wait for the rest of the week!

DeleteDay 9, Today went okay. :/ I didn't have my baseball game, but it got rescheduled until tomorrow. :) I didn't really follow the schedule as much as i hoped, but i know that other days i have done what i wanted, so it doesn't really effect me, I berely exersized today, so ill do a couple pushups, and stuff. I hope tomorrow goes as good as yesterday was, but it's okay to go and have an okay day. It's okay to relax, but i wanted to do more. Any tips to get more into exersizing? Thanks, See you all tomorrow. :)

ReplyDeleteMy eigth day was normal. My bad habit was getting too distracted all the time. So I would try to focus my mind a little but I still need to do my homework more quickly and focus on it.
ReplyDeleteDay 8 went well.it was just like every other Monday but this time I went outside and worked out with my neighbor first then did my homework after.i hope this week will be much better than last week.
